Fear of the Unknown

We all have it, fear of the unknown, but some of us learn to cope with it earlier than others. It is a great skill to learn and we can use our energy awareness to be in the fear but not let it take us over.

This is one of the reasons we give our power away to others as well, because they seem to have all the answers and that is safer than us feeling like we don't.

We all don't know

For kid's most of the world is still an unknown and if they can keep their childlike curiosity in charge, as they explore the unknown, for as long as possible, that is ideal. But that curiosity gets replaced with fear soon enough.

The unknown is just something we are not yet familiar with. If we let our children know that we all are experience things we don't know, every day, they can begin to learn that it isn't something scary.

Share your experiences of things you know today, you didn't know last week. Help them learn to open up to the idea that no one every has all the answers and life is a constant exploration into things we don't know. That shift alone can help children feel more at ease.

Love for the unknown

Picking on people that are different, refusing to try foods that seem strange or expressing fear about going somewhere unfamiliar are all common expressions of fear of the unknown.

Teach children to love the unknown and explore the world with open minds and open hearts.

Top tools for energetically loving the unknown:

  • Grounding Cord - When we are grounded, we have more information about what is happening around us and can assess threats properly.

  • Protection - When we know we are safe and know where our energy ends and the world begins, we can stand in our personal truth while explore the truth of the world around us.

Working with doubt

The secret of making something work in your lives is first of all, the deep desire to make it work; then the faith and belief that it can work: then to hold that clear definite vision in your consciousness and see it working out step by step, without one thought of doubt or disbelief.
— Eileen Caddy,

Again, letting our little one's know they are normal. We all have doubt and well all have  fears, it is how we connect with ourselves and each other with those feelings.

Working with our thoughts and the ones that get away from us. We talk about these thoughts as monsters or beings. That allows us to separate from our thoughts and see them as smaller, easier to manage, energies. Read more about these thoughts here.

The world can be amazing or it can be scary or a combination of all of it. It is important to know how much our perspective plays into our experience and how we treat others.

This is a great video on framing things in a growth mindset to help frame this differently.
