Fear & a bad case of the "What ifs"

It seems like a lifelong process to get past our fears. Fear starts when we are babies and continues through our life, dictating our actions and keeping us stuck in the search for peace from it. Our minds are very powerful and fear can be something that stops our manifesting minds in its tracks.

This current situation is no exception. We are naturally afraid of the unknown and we are in a serious case of “what next?” We are powerful creators and what happens next is unwritten. Now is the time to use our thoughts and energy to manifest our next steps with love.

To Have or Have not

There is nothing to fear but fear itself.
— Franklin D. Roosevelt

Fear can really block our ability to manifest what we want. Sometimes we don't even know that is what is in our way.

The fears we are experiencing may not always be obvious. We may think we want something but in our subconscious mind fear is keeping us from having what we want. For some reason, we fear to have it or not having it. Either way, fear is in the way.

For example, many people would love an abundance of money, so why don't we all have an abundance of money? It can boil down to our programs, automatic lumping of things or events together to make them predictable. In regard to money, some people fear having money means people will only like them because of their wealth and they're worried they won't be loved authentically.

Other people fear having money means they must have stolen it from someone else in some underhanded way. Even more, people don't believe they deserve large amounts of money because no one around them seems to have it. Either way, it is all fear, fear, keeping you from allowing something into your life.

Reflection of Your Fears

Your fears will reflect back to you in various ways. The frequency of your fears will manifest many opportunities to see your fears come into reality. Your filter will be honed in to see the truth of your fears if you don’t train yourself to manifest through love.

For example, let’s say you are shopping for a new place to live. You begin to notice the types of places up for rent or sale. You begin to notice different types of living situations and may even have more conversations with others in the world about where and how they live.

If you are afraid you won’t be able to afford what you want, you will begin to hear others talk about how expensive their homes are. If you are afraid there is a housing shortage for what you need, you will begin to see that truth around you. This reinforces the fears, which then your mind says “see this is the truth.” You forget you can manifest something different and begin to manifest, even more strongly, your fears.

Even if you end up in the home you wanted, if your fears are still driving the show, you will be tested to stay where you want. Struggles will emerge as if the universe is asking you “are you sure you can have this?” But it isn’t the universe asking, it is the way you manifested your desire. You included fear.

If you look, you will be shown clearly where you hadn't processed all of the fear within you yet. If you had, you would have hardly noticed the things that use to make you afraid. You are always trying to heal fear, so reflections of your fear will appear over and over.

Your Past is Talking

Once we have decided we want something, we either go out and get it or run it by our mind for permission to have it. If our safety space or fear is triggered by the desire, it won't allow you to go out and get what you want.

Generally, this happens because of past experience with either your desires in general or your desires for those types of things. In the past, something scared you about creating what you want and you placed a program in your subconscious to protect you from that ever happening again.

Are you talking yourself out of having what you want? If you have a lot of answers to this question that you feel are logical and want to defend as “correct” limitations, go back and ask yourself if there is something from your past that is holding you back? Is there some need that was unmet, that is trying to be met now?

Mind Control

Sometimes all it takes is to get a handle on your thoughts and indulge in supportive, encouraging thoughts instead of fear-based "what ifs?"

The mind does better if you entertain it, like having a good debate with a friend. Listen to it, don't judge it at first, but then notice if the mind is making things bigger than they need to be. Sometimes we find it easier to entertain the bad scenarios rather than the good ones out of self-preservation. But what are you preserving exactly?

TRY THIS.

Think of something you are currently working on having. Something you really want. Ask yourself these questions in either a journal or in your mind's eye.

  • What is the likelihood of you getting what you want? Why or why not?

  • What would happen if you got what you wanted?

  • What would happen if you knew for sure you would never get what you wanted?

  • Who in your life shows you an example of having what you want? Are you like them? Why or why not?

  • Who in your life shows you an example of not having what you want? Are you like them? Why or why not?

Did you come up with some reasonable answers? Did you find any hidden fears in there? If not, go back and look at your answers again and see if you can uncover the hidden fear either of having what you want or not.
